SARS-CoV-2 RESPONSE

WSIS is a global entity and community. We connect globally to achieve our vision in preventing surgical site infections. We want to build on this unique stand point during these difficult SARS-CoV-2 times and use our strengths to reach out and continue to ensure no patient is neglected and patient and health worker safety will always be a priority. We support WHO evidence and recommendations and will continue to promote best practices for surgical areas and beyond.

“Although the idea that an SSI is just an SSI is prevalent, it is now well known that the cost of an SSI in
terms of mortality, morbidity, health-care costs, and loss of productivity
is enormous.”
